Fresh from a tour with Zero 7, Willis releases another track from her highly prized Come Get Some album. That record proved her as more than just a derivative singer-songwriter, and the countrified tone of Take You High is weighed down by the bitter pill of experience.

Willis, first name Hayley, is blessed with an extraordinary voice, and in the chorus line soars over the mostly acoustic backing. Production is refreshingly wide open in the best American tradition, and more than once I was inclined to think of Willis as a modern day Joni Mitchell.

If you've not listened to the album yet I would strongly recommend it - you'd be hard pushed to find a more personal set of songs, and that voice demands to be heard more.
