Willy Mason's last single, Oxygen, became something of an anthem for the 20 year old folkie earlier this year. Played to death on both Radio 1 and 2, and greeted ecstatically by fans on his recent tour, there may have been a danger of it becoming a millstone around his neck.

Which makes it even more of a joy to hear So Long. Mason's vocals are as endearingly off-key as ever but the sheer exuberance of the song means he gets away with it. More upbeat than Oxygen, the chorus of "so long, I'll be moving on" is nothing short of euphoric.

Far more than a one trick pony, there's no danger of Mr Mason bidding us So Long for some time to come.
