And so we welcome back Marco Pironni and Chris Constantinou, both former Ants (that's Adam and The Ants incidentally). Somewhat unsurprisingly Jackie Says has none of glamour that the Ants were later associated with, but there is plenty of attitude dripping from this song. If it's beyond the capabilities of most of today's "indie" bands to write songs that have swagger at their core, then we need the likes of Pironni and Constantinou.

Check out the lo-fi squall of guitars that introduces the track as they bury a mean harmonica under a blanket of white turbulence. Once the track kicks up a gear, the production gets tighter, but the blitz is still there, cruising along on a pummelling bassline.

If this lot were twenty years old again and encased in skinny jeans the world would be falling over themselves to anoint them as the next BRMC or Jesus and Mary Chain. Undoubtedly, The Wolfmen would stare back with pinpoint eyes from behind dark, dark shades and with a flick of their jet black hair they'd count in the next number. The Wolfmen might not be twenty anymore, but with Jackie Says, they've got more to say than any of the oh-so-cool bands that are clogging up iPods and CD racks.
