Here they are again, with another single that states categorically that this is a band to be reckoned with. Wolfmother make the kind of rock that cropped up in Richard Linklater's Dazed And Confused; unashamed hands in the air, head in the clouds and arse parked in the back seat of a Cadillac Rawk and Roll.

"Woman," sings Andrew Stockdale in his best Percy Plant voice. This of course sounds a little like "Wuumawwwnn!" Anyone with a slight knowledge of how things in Rock and Roll will tell you that’s exactly how it should sound; particularly when it's accompanied by a riff plucked straight from the book of musical shades entitled 'Metallic Blues'.

Lyrically and musically, Woman should be something of a hideous embarrassment. People just don't rock out like this anymore, it just isn't cool. Except... Wolfmother have made it a very cool sound indeed. Yep, that's right, knocked off Zeppelin riffs, high pitched vocals and lyrics that you could have written when you were six are very, very cool indeed thanks to Wolfmother. Wolfmother only exist to kick some ass and drink some beer, and it looks like they're out of beer.
