Just what we need, I hear you cry, another power-pop-punk band from across the Atlantic? Haven't we already got Sugarcult, Less Than Jake and a thousand other pretenders vying for that crown? Haven't we, like, heard it all before? But wait! Their catchy lyrics, soaring melodies and harmonies may will you to change your mind. And they've got a violin.

Way Away is the band's first UK release, soon to be followed by album Ocean Avenue, which has sold an impressive 600,000 copies in America. Their recent Brit tour sold out without a single release, they're playlisted on MTV2 and specialist radio shows and have just supported Less Than Jake across the country.

Yellowcard are the acceptable face of fresh-faced rebellion in the same way that posh Britters Busted are. They're catchy, they're cute, they sing with a seriousness that belies their simplistic lyrics. They'll do well.
