This little gem contains six sprawling puddles of noise, all of which were recorded in one day during a day off, while the band were touring with the fabulous Liars.
Each composition is utterly enthralling in its own way, somehow managing to bridge the gap between unfocused haze and a weirdly captivating melody. Your attention is initially drawn to Katie Eastburn's voice, which appears to have been created by scraping the vocal chords of PJ Harvey and Bjork and attempting to synthesise some kind of super larynx. Eastburn has the ability to sound apathetic yet wanton at the same time, and although her voice is at odds with most of these songs, it all works perfectly.
Each of these songs is a beautiful dirge: part blues, part noise, part furball and each of them is as beautiful as the title of the EP suggests. You can't help but become entranced by these songs: that may well the sound of a guitar jack plug humming uselessly, waiting to be plugged in, but it is also a sound that you need to rewind and listen to again and again. Wonderful.
