Well, if we're honest, musically the original was no great shakes, having been improved by the distant glow of nostalgia. The 2004 version has a more up to date production and all the celebs (with the exception of Dizzee Rascal's disasterous rap in the middle) acquit themselves well. Chris Martin is the perfect choice to deliver the famous opening line, Bono thankfully gets to reprise his part and the girl group it's okay to like, Sugababes, add some nice harmonies, It's certainly a lot better than the dreadful Stock/Aitken/Waterman version from 1989.

By the time the celebrated refrain of "Feed The World" kicks in, you'll be feeling all warm and fuzzy inside - even if the question of why a brand new song wasn't recorded instead remains.
