It's a story you should all be familiar with now, Velvet Revolver are a super group made of Stone Temple Pilots main man Scott Weiland, former Guns 'N' Roses lads Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum and finally David Kushner of Suicidal Tendencies. Fall To Pieces is the second release from their acclaimed debut album, Contraband.

A delicate guitar intro with a smooth bass line, then Weiland's fervent vocals settle you in comfortably before the tempo moves up a couple of notches as the drums take their course. With a heartfelt, infectious chorus and Slash's obligatory guitar solo as the centrepiece of attraction to spice things, it almost feels like the late '80s.

Fall To Pieces is a terrific song that sounds like a lost Gunners track. If you read the press and pay attention to the charts, old school rock is back in black and these guys are just as exciting (and naughty) as they were more than a decade ago.
