All female group the Suffrajets waste no time when it comes to rock ‘n' roll: They have played at the notorious Whiskey A-Go-Go in L.A, recorded with Carmine Appice, acquired a firm fan base that includes Bruce Dickinson and drummer Gemma Clarke even had a spell in waster Pete Doherty's band, Babyshambles (during Suffrajets extended interim after a serious car crash in 2003). Now the new line-up is back with this deafening single.

While Sold offers nothing new, it has a vintage aura about it. It drips blood and sweat but still moves swiftly along. There is definitely a taste for early Motorhead with the razor sharp riff and a raw melody. The attitude is one of a hard punk aggression that augments the song, and when it hits the final crescendo toward the end, Sold becomes a frenzy of maddening toughness.

It's hard not to like an all female rock group who look as good as Suffrajets do while also letting rip with some quality songs. Forget girl power - Suffrajets hang out with the lads.
