Geri is an odd one. She always seemed the most interesting of The Spice Girls. Not MENSA bright, but not a little pop puppet either - bailing when she did from her former band must have taken some balls. Yet she seems to have become just another celebrity, removed from the business of being a pop star. Now she is another face in Heat along with the soap stars and reality TV flotsam. The UK answer to Madonna she is not.

Geri doesn't really sing on this track, she purrs; she half speaks while orchestra stabs and a phat analogue bass weave pretty patterns in the background. It's electro clash watered through a Priory filter.

For a pop song aimed at charts it lacks that killer hook - that zigazig ha - that will transfer itself onto an army of mobile phones. Nothing dates as quickly as an ex pop star. The Vikki Polards we be asking Geri who? From a wannabe to footnote in musical history in nine years.
