All that bandying around of names like Brian Wilson and My Bloody Valentine can't do anyone any favours. The Long Island his-and-hers duo of Vinny Cafiso and Tabitha Tindale are readying a new album, The Heartlight Set, and - as you do - chose to push out a little taster in the shape of this single.

You're So Good is an understated thing. It chugs along happily enough without ever really breaking sweat, and repeated listens do indeed reveal a rather catchy hook amidst Joy Zipper's modest and slightly careworn indie rock. Tabitha's vocal suggests all is well in the world with her man (for it is he), and the whole is fine, briefly increasing the pulse rate around the chorus' brief burst of harmony, but otherwise it's just too warm and chocolate boxy.

It's a little bewildering bringing another baby into the world like this. Perhaps one hearing of The Heartlight Set will make all the pieces fall into place, but on the strength of You're So Good, it doesn't look like the one that's gonna break big for Joy Zipper.
