Hailing from San Diego, Louis XIV bring their own take on fuzzed up blues punk to the party. God Killed The Queen is essentially a party track; it's basic, guttural and fun for about two minutes. So not exactly the best party you've been to, but by no means the worst. The worst constitutes turning up with a large quantity of beer, placing it in a dustbin full of cold water and other people's beer, only to be told by the host that the party's going to the pub. A cunning ruse to keep the host in beer at home, and a brilliant way to have drinks bought for them down the pub all night.

God Killed The Queen is nearly the musical equivalent of the aforementioned party. With a title like God Killed The Queen, you're already half expecting something as vital and culturally important as the Pistols in '77. To find that it isn't is a bit disappointing, and, initially at least, you feel like you've been cheated.

Once you’re over the feeling of being conned, however, this is actually a pretty neat track. At under two minutes it doesn't outstay its welcome, and the Stones-lite guitar riff is enough to save it from being a complete let-down. Not as revolutionary as we'd have hoped then, but good enough to get you out of the kitchen at parties.
