Rufus Wainwright's Want Two is one of the more challenging listens of the year, and Crumb By Crumb, while not being quite as 'out there' as some tracks, is not your typical single.
Set to a slow burning, languid swing and featuring the highly underrated English songwriter Leona Naess on backing vocals, this takes a while to worm its way into your brain, but once it's there, it's not going away. You probably won't hear it on the radio that much, but if you've not got the album, it's well worth the download.
Wainwright is not really a 'singles artist' - he only makes total sense over an album where his talent can fully bloom. Yet Crumb By Crumb is a nice little taster if you're yet to be convinced.
