Hush (Michael Hartmann and Dorthe Gerlach) are a married Danish couple. Think Sonny and Cher or Ike and Tina Turner... Okay, before the divorce and the doomed relationship breakdown, and with a pop / folk / country and western style of music.

If I Was is the debut single off their up-coming album A Lifetime. It also acts as the twosome's first foray into movie soundtrack land, being on the Jonas Elmer film Monas Verden (Mona's World).

The song is unequivocally beautiful with a Celtic folk feel, particularly conveyed though Gerlach's unusual vibrato. There's more to its catchy and innocent mood than meets the eye, however: According to Hartmann the song is "partly about incest". He quickly adds "it's definitely not autobiographical". Hmmm... still, great song!
