If you have heard any Texas record in the last decade then you will know exactly what this sounds like - exactly like, well, sleep. Falling asleep in a warm bath full of bubbles, in fact. It starts out comforting and a pleasure and then you notice it's gone stone cold.

It's shrink-wrapped blue eyed soul with the raw emotion and power expunged. All surface, production and vocal with no song to staple it onto. It's heartless and dry. Heaven only knows how they managed to get Paul Buchanan of The Blue Nile to sing on it.

On The Blue Nile records Paul Buchanan's voice is like tinsel town in the rain, a neon streak viewed from a passing train, a winter horizon at dawn. On this he sounds clenched, tight, fighting for air against the weight of the production. His voice is shoehorned into a song that lacks the dramatic sweep or romantic range of his work with his band. His voice is reduced to another shade of beige in the backing track. Forget this single and start praying for a new Blue Nile record sometime soon.
