Jim Cosby
Here's everything published by this contributor on musicOMH.
Jim is an attorney/writer living in Philadelphia.
Jim grew up in Kent, WA, USA (Best Thing About Kent: adoptive home of Metal Church), where his formative years were dominated by older brothers' tastes for The Beatles and Led Zeppelin. Right now, Shout Out Louds, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons (a big hit on Broadway right now -turns out they're not lame after all), The Zoobombs, and Kasabian are all in heavy rotation on Jim's iPod.
Jim enjoys any music with some energy and some integrity, regardless of genre, and is of the firm belief that The Posies and Teenage Fanclub are responsible for some of the most blissful moments in rock history. Along with producing what many believe to be the finest music criticism of the new millennium, Jim enjoys cycling, film and writing flattering biographies of himself in the third-person.
Jim has also published legal scholarship on the issue of children's rights (see e.g. James A. Cosby, "How Parents and Children Disappear in Our Courts - and Why it Need Not Ever Happen Again," 53 Clev. St. L.R. 286 (1995)).
Three Albums That Everyone Should Own: The Posies - Dear 23, Teenage Fanclub - Grand Prix, Body Count - Body Count.
One Under-appreciated Soundtrack: Clueless.
Three Under-appreciated Singles: Bachman-Turner Overdrive - Hey You, The Goo Goo Dolls - Ain't That Unusual, Folk Implosion - Nothing's Gonna Stop.
