Matt Cotsell grew up in the Wiltshire countryside, a weird little gay kid listening to Madonna, before discovering grunge and experimental music in the early '90s, via Sonic Youth. That obsession with celebrating otherness and independence, grew into admiration for composers like Robert Ashley, Beverley Glenn Copeland, Popol Vuh, Grouper, Alice Coltrane and Sun Ra. After completing his Bachelors in Installation Art & Sound Design in London and periods spent living in Antwerp and Berlin, he now resides in Brighton, where he works as a writer, musician, DJ, graphic designer & photographer.
