Gig Of The Week
Titus Andronicus manage to squeeze just about everything into their sound; lo-fi production, snarling punk vocals and a healthy dose of rock ‘n’ roll make them a force to be reckoned with. Their fourth album, The Most Lamentable Tragedy – a nod to their Shakespearean name – is, naturally, a rock opera…in five acts. Their gig at the Village Underground on Thursday promises to be quite a show.
Announcement Of The Week
Yann Tiersen is set to play his only show of 2016 at the Barbican, on 7 May. The Saturday night show will bring together a collection of solo piano and violin works, taking the audience on a journey of his island home of Ushant, in Brittany. It’ll focus on 10 new tracks, which are being released in a new book of sheet music, called EUSA – which have not been recorded.
