Nathaniel Rateliff is best known for sparse but powerful, melancholic folk, so his latest venture might surprise a few people. His new, seven-piece backing band, The Night Sweats, inject some dirty rock n roll to his warm, warbling vocals. “These songs are about the struggles I’ve had in my life – drinking too much, that kind of crap,” Rateliff reckons, which sounds an excellent combination to us.
