Gig Of The Week
Welcome back! We’re easing you into 2015 with a rather skinny edition of London Gigs this week as venues, promoters and artists seem to be slowly warming up.
The Lexington is undoubtedly the place to be this week, as it hosts the now traditional outing of Fortuna POP!’s tip-top roster, the Winter Sprinter. The indiepop label will take over the Kings Cross venue for four nights, and tickets are available for individual shows or the entire run, but the most eagerly anticipated shows are surely the final two, which will see Evans the Death and Martha airing new material on Thursday, while on Friday Milky Wimpshake will be propping up Londoners Tigercats, whose low key shows to preview their forthcoming second album went down a storm.
If you’re still standing after all that, head back on Sunday, when bis – who recently wrote about their musical loves for us, will be performing two shows – a regular evening gig and a matinee – marking the 20th anniversary of the release of their debut, New Transistor Heroes.
