When we first saw BBC Sound Of 2014 longlistee George Ezra (pictured), he was the first support act in a line-up at the Borderline. This week he’s headlining at the Lexington, where you can see for yourself why his voice left such an impression on us, and check out our 14 for ’14 piece on him in the meantime.
After a turn on a certain celebrity dancing show, indie girl turned pop glamour puss Sophie Ellis-Bextor is returning to her natural habitat, playing in the plush surroundings of west London’s Bush Hall on Tuesday. If you’ve not snapped up a ticket, worry not – she’s due to play a couple of nights at the even grander Union Chapel in April.

Just announced
The Wave Pictures have kicked off 2014 with a new single, Missoula – listen to it here – and have announced a UK tour, which stops off at Islington Assembly Hall on 18 April.
Hospitality‘s second album, Trouble, is set for release via Fire Records later this month. They’ll be following it up with their first European tour in the spring, including a stop off at the Sebright Arms on 26 May.
Neneh Cherry has also announced European dates, with a free instore gig at Rough Trade East on 25 February, followed by Concrete on 26 February.
Katy B‘s March tour – which includes a night at KOKO on 26th – has sold out. But fear not – she’ll be back in the autumn, with a show at Camden’s Roundhouse on 23 October in support of upcoming excellent pop collection Little Red, which is out through Columbia on 10 February.
Nordic night Ja Ja Ja returns to the Lexington on 13 February. It follows the success of the club’s first festival, which saw its programmers take over the Roundhouse for two days in November. February’s bill includes Norweigan Americana band Antler, Danish singer-songwriter Schultz and Forever and Icelandic electro trio Vok.
