Elsewhere, musicOMH favourite East India Youth brings his debut album Total Strife Forever to the Lexington on Thursday. We gave the record four-and-a-half-stars, calling it a “stunningly exquisite work”. He’ll next be supporting Wild Beasts on tour.
We gave the same score to Fuck Buttons‘ (pictured) last album, Slow Focus. “An electronic force to be reckoned with”, we said. See for yourself at the Forum on Friday; it’s their biggest London show to date.
It’s been a whirl wind 12 months for Tom Odell. Winning the BRITs Critics Choice award last year saw him go from performing at pub open mic nights to playing at Brixton Academy, where he’ll be on Saturday.

David Brewis of Field Music is dusting down his solo project, School Of Language, for a return this spring. The Brewis brothers take a curious approach to side projects, employing each other to form their backing bands, so don’t be confused to see Peter on stage when they play at the Lexington on 23 April. The LP, Old Fears, is set for release a couple of weeks before, on 7 April.
Scott and Charlene’s Wedding are set to return to our shores in May. Led by New York resident, Australian Craig Dermody, the lo-fi scuzz rockers impressed us at the Shacklewell Arms last summer, so we’ll be looking forward to their gig at the Lexington on 16 May.
Atlanta’s Black Lips have also recorded a new album. Underneath The Rainbow will hit the shelves on 17 March, and then they’ll kick off a European tour, taking in Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club on 4 June.
