Opera Holland Park on tour

Opera Holland Park have established themselves as a strong alternative to the main London houses, with their annual Summer season in West London.

They are now touring, albeit not far and wide, but will be seen at nearby Richmond Theatre during February with Stephen Barlow’s 2008 production of Tosca.

Korn/Ferry Opera Holland Park is widely regarded as one of the most exciting, innovative and accomplished opera companies in the UK. With an extraordinary history of producing rarities (their greatest strength) alongside popular favourites, this transfer to Richmond is a unique foray outside of the prestigious summer festival.

Tosca runs from 24 February to 1 March with a double cast which includes the exciting Amanda Echalaz in the title role (alternate performances). She shares the part with Julia Melinek, while Sen Ruane and Adriano Graziani alternate as Cavaradossi and with Nicholas Garrett/David Stephenson as Scarpia. Phillip Thomas conducts all performances.

MusicOMH.com didn’t review this production last Summer but it received acclaim for its fresh approach to Puccini’s old warhorse. The Richmond run represents an opportunity to see quality opera at a fraction of the cost of the London opera houses.

Tickets are bookable on 0870 060 6651 or visit www.richmondtheatre.net. Tickets are priced at 26 – 45.
