musicOMH's Top 50 Albums Of 2016

musicOMH’s Top 50 Albums Of 2016… well, six of them

It’s December already, and that month brings with it the inevitability of listageddon.

Accordingly, herewith be musicOMH’s Top 50 albums of 2016, as arrived at by amassing the votes of our current writers. 133 albums were nominated in all. There are some very notable exceptions in this list. But while as a publication we cover as much music as we can, our writers have particular specialisms and have offered up some intriguing entries.

It’s almost become a cliché already to say that 2016 wasn’t all bad if the music released during it is considered, but this is the first time we’ve produced a Top 10 where two of the featured artists have died before the list is even published. If ever we needed pseudo-scientific evidence to back up conspiratorial supposition, here surely is proof that we live in strange times.

Where reviews are available we’ve linked to them, but it’s evident that we need more writers to fill in the gaps. So, if you’d like to write words about music and see them posted on this site, why not drop us a line.

musicOMH (excepting the classical section) will take a break from 16th December and return in early January. Thanks for reading this year. All our best for Christmas and see you in 2017.
