Darren Hayman plays the Betsy Trotwood on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
This week opens with a trio of shows by Darren Hayman at the Betsy Trotwood on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in support of his new album 12 Astronauts. Timed to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the moon landings his 18th solo album (!) features a song for each of the 12 men who have stepped on the moon.
On Thursday Mount Eerie (American musician Phil Elverum) plays EartH following the release last year of his Now Only album. Rough Trade East also have a few shows worth checking out this week. Marika Hackman plays there on Friday ahead of the release of new album Any Human Friend and their regular ‘Recommends’ returns on Wednesday featuring Sleep Eaters and the Sonic Cathedral-signed Buffalo Postcard and Molly.
The Meltdown festival enters its second week at the Southbank Centre. Some of the higher profile shows are sold out but there’s still tickets available for Brazilian singer Anitta, Kero Kero Bonito and Nakhane.
