Gig Of The Week
The folks at Memphis Industries are getting in the festive spirit, with a two-night Christmas bash at Oslo this week. Rounding off a packed year for the label, some of their long-standing acts will be joined by sparkly young things to send off 2015. The brilliant Slug play alongside The Go! Team and Menace Beach on Tuesday, while Monday’s line-up boasts Dutch Uncles, Outfit and NZCA LINES.
Announcement Of The Week
Producer Darren Cunningham – aka Actress – will be accompanied by the London Contemporary Orchestra for a show at the Barbican, on 10 February. Having said he wants to make “classical stuff for a modern generation”, expect expansive, reworked arrangements and gloomy electro chamber music.
