London Gigs

London Gigs: 23 February – 1 March 2015

Gig Of The Week

We were rather excited by the return of Death From Above 1979 last September, and awarded their album The Physical World a whopping 4.5 stars, calling it “a tremendous, rollicking, riotous blast of an album”. After their Electric Ballroom show, we can’t wait to see it all upscaled at Brixton Academy on Wednesday.

Announcement Of The Week

It might not yet be safe to venture outside with a scarf and umbrella but the summer festivals are already gearing up, with line-ups being announced almost daily. Wilderness (6-9 August) is shaping up to be a gem of an event, with Björk, Róisín Murphy, George Clinton, Hercules And Love AffairNick Mulvey and Nils Frahm confirmed this week. Indiepop train fest Indietracks (24-26 July) also revealed some of the acts set to play in July, including returnees The Go! Team, Cinerama, Euros Childs, Tigercats and Martha.

And of course you’d have to be living under a rock to have missed the news that Blur are not only releasing their first album for 16 years this April (check out the first track, Go Out, from it here) but are also going to headline British Summer Time in Hyde Park on 20 June. Tickets go on sale on Friday.
