London Gigs Diary: 15-21 July 2013

The Summer Series at Somerset House continues this week, with First Aid Kit, Of Monsters And Men, Tom Odell, Jessie Ware, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Goldfrapp (pictured) and Basement Jaxx all playing against a stunning backdrop by the Thames. Expect new material from the latter two.

The Barbican host an enviable line-up on Saturday in the shape of CocoRosie and Youth Lagoon, who will be trying to out spook each other with their new albums.

Lovebox kicks off on Friday, with Goldfrapp, Plan B, Flying Lotus, Azealia Banks, Gold Panda, Factory Floor, Hurts, Ghostpoet, So Solid Crew and Jon Hopkins all appearing in east London’s Victoria Park. Check our full Lovebox 2013 preview.

Just announced

Alice In Chains are set to play the biggest show of their 25-year career, with a date at Alexandra Palace on 9 November.

The 1975 will follow up their sold-out Shepherd’s Bush Empire show with a gig at Brixton Academy on 11 January – via dates in Europe and North America.

Art Brut will celebrate 10 years in the biz with a 14-date tour, calling in at the Village Underground on 5 October.

Neko Case is set to headline at the Forum on 12 December, bringing her recent album, The Worse Things Get, The Harder I Fight, The Harder I Fight, The More I Love You – which features collaborations with M Ward, Calexico and My Morning Jacket – to London for the first time.

The day before that show, on 11 December, Primal Scream will stop off at the Brixton Academy.
