musicOMH is moving to a new ‘pay if you can’ model
Since the site’s launch way back in 1999, musicOMH’s reviews, interviews and features have been free to access for everyone, because we’ve always wanted our words about the music we love and its makers we admire to reach the widest possible audience.
But it is not free to operate. We incur significant costs on a monthly basis, and advertising revenue to content providers like us, which once helped to cover these costs, has declined dramatically.
So we are asking for your support, as we make it possible for you to choose to help pay for what we do.
musicOMH’s new partnership with Axate allows you to contribute a small amount for our articles and to support our coverage, on a ‘pay if you can’ basis. Just register with Axate by clicking on one of the green A squares which appear at the top left of every page, load up as little as £3 into your account and contribute an introductory 50p for a full day’s content. Payment is secure and all major methods of payment are accepted. There are no long-term commitments, no gimmicks and no exclusive clubs to join – just a sincere request for your support.
Right now things are tough, which is why we’d prefer not go down the route of charging readers to access articles. So if you’re unable to pay at this time, we’re still here for you – just click “No Thanks” and you can read on without payment. That’s completely fine.
In the meantime, Axate boxes now appear on all of our pages. If you can, please do consider taking a few moments to click on one, register and make a contribution. And if you’d like to know more about this new arrangement, there’s more in the Axate FAQs.
Thanks for reading.
