Accompanied by a video full of dark imagery of hooded men, robotic figures and grizzly experiments, the track is a righteous blast of dirty riffs, distorted saxophone, and debauched glamour and rage that sounds unmistakably like Primal Scream.
Written by Bobby Gillespie and Andrew Innes and produced by David Holmes, the track also features searing guitar sounds courtesy of long time collaborator Kevin Shields of My Bloody Valentine.
2013 is the first material to be unveiled by the newly reconfigured Primal Scream following bassist Mani’s departure to rejoin The Stone Roses last year; it is also the first Primal Scream song to feature Mani’s replacement Simone Butler.
More Light will be released through the band’s own label First International in conjunction with Ignition Records. A release date or track listing is not yet known although the record is expected in the spring.
