John Grant to tour with Royal Northern Sinfonia

musicOMH farvourite John Grant is planning his most ambitious project yet… a seven date tour accompanied by the Royal Northern Sinfonia.

His last album, Pale Green Ghosts, was our album of 2013, and a bold move away from 2010’s Queen Of Denmark. But this latest project is braver still. His record label, Bella Union, tell us the shows will see “John’s celebrated back catalogue reworked and reimagined with a sumptuous orchestral setting, alongside the world premiere of some specially written new songs.”

An impressive 34 musicians will be involved in the show, put together by Fiona Brice, who’s worked with the likes of Roy Harper, Anna Calvi, Placebo, and John’s old friends Midlake.

The London leg of the tour will – of course – be at the Royal Festival Hall, with shows also planned for venues including Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall and Liverpool’s Philharmonic Hall.

John Grant will play at London’s Royal Festival Hall on 30 November 2014. More here.
