Nick Mulvey, Neil Halstead and Amadou & Mariam set for Somersault

Folky favourites Communion are set to curate a stage at Somersault – a five day ‘summer camp’ in Devon.

The label and PR group, founded by Mumford and Sons’ Ben Lovett, Bear’s Den’s Kev Jones and producer Ian Grimble, will be host the festival’s second stage, which organisers promise will include “a canvas-tented whiskey and ale bar, a dining area serving ribs and smoked meats, a record store and more.”

They’ve pulled in some favours along the way, and for a relatively small festival have pulled in some exciting names. Acts confirmed include Jack Johnson, Neil Halstead, Amadou & Mariam, Bombino, Nick Mulvey, Ben Howard, Catfish and Bottlemen and Crowns.

A rather more sophisticated soiree than the usual cider and portaloo affair, the event’s charity partner is Surfers Against Sewage, which probably tells you all you need to know about the rest of the programme. A celebration of all things outdoorsy, activities on offer include surfing, forest parties, Exmoor excursions, theatre, campfire feasts and a “commune of calm” with massages and therapies on offer. The more adventurous types can get stuck into paddle boarding, mountain biking, and coastal rafting.

Somersault takes place on 17-21 July 2014 in North Devon. Find out more here.
