Siobhan Fahey is set to join Dexys for a show at the Roundhouse this summer.
Fahey, formerly of Shakespears Sister and Bananarama of course, will replace Madeline Hyland, who wooed us with her bolshy vocals on their One Day I’m Going To Soar residency at London’s Duke of York theatre. The show will be an adaptation of the musical-like performance they put together to support their recent album.
The band said: “It’s a stand up venue, so it will be something different for us. Until this point, almost all of our shows have been in sit down theatres, but we’re up for it and we know that the show can work well in this interesting building.
“The performance will basically the Glastonbury (festival) set – a slightly edited version of the One Day I’m Going To Soar Show, plus a few favourites. Sadly, Madeleine Hyland is unable to do the shows, but we are delighted that Siobhan Fahey will step in to play the female role. We’re sad that Maddy isn’t with us, but really feel good about Siobhan’s involvement. Look good, you know we will.”
Dexys play at the Roundhouse on 27 June. Find out more here.
