Track Of The Day: Colleagues – Tears

colleagues First of all, Colleagues have picked a great title to go with their new track Tears – it actually sounds like tears on the dancefloor as it’ll either make you dance in joy or cry your face off depending on whether your glass if half empty or full right now.

Secondly, this Swedish quintet takes a leaf out of Cut Copy’s book when it comes to the electro indie pop that’s bursting with shimmering synths, staccato guitars and a generally funky rhythm that is simply infectious and irresistible… But then that’s what the Swedes do.

As the follow-up to their breakthrough hit song Parent’s House, Colleagues join forces with famous Swedish mime artist Bo W Lindstrom who interprets Tears physically as the lyrics lament over a love affair with good intentions that was, unfortunately, never meant to be. Hooky, breezy and worth repeated listens, Colleagues make a memorable debut with this release on new label, In Stereo Records.
