Track Of The Day: Honeyblood – Killer Bangs

If you like your punk fuzzy, jangly, shouty and very loud right out the gate, Honeyblood’s brand new track Killer Bangs is what you should be listening to right now.

Made up of two sassy lasses from Glasgow, Honeyblood’s brand of skatey bubble-gum punk is catchy and infectious with vocalist Stina Tweedale preferring to yell her lyrics out on songs like Killer Bangs over some hard-hitting drums and a memorable central hook.

It’s all about keeping it short, sharp and spiky for Honeyblood on this track, the song clocking in at just two-and-a-half minutes, but never letting up on the speed, or Tweedale’s dissatisfaction with how life has been treating her (badly). For those not yet familiar with Honeyblood, you probably will be soon, especially if you happen to be a fan of Best Coast or Palma Violets, and come 14 July don’t be surprised if you’re picking up the sonic sugar rush in the form of their self-titled debut full-length album. This stuff is intense.
