London-based indie label Transgressive turn 10 this year, and are celebrating like the child of an oligarch – with a show at the Barbican. It’s hard to believe it’s been an entire decade since founders Tim Dellow and Toby L first set up shop in their bedrooms.
Now with many other strings to their bow, they’re still best known to the record-releasing arm of the business, having put out music by the likes of Foals, The Shins, Johnny Flynn, Iron And Wine, Graham Coxon, Regina Spektor, At The Drive In and Two Door Cinema Club, to name but a few.
Their birthday show, on 30 September, will bring some of their acts together, with Mystery Jets , Johnny Flynn & The Sussex Wit and Marika Hackman (pictured) all making an appearance, compered by Huw Stephens. Expect big name DJs to be announced.
